I badly need your help by my English homework!!! :(?
Hey, it would be very nice if somebody can correct my text :) I am from Germany.
scientifically speaking, more men than women are in leadership positions. Wondering why men are always significantly more frequently found in positions of power and the resulting problem that these roles are anything but equal treatment is, more and more frequently. Replied a frequent and well-considered response is that of family planning. Often it is just that women (who can boast an average of even the better Numerus clausus and exams, the better) come not only to develop their career. In most cases, women go after graduation - or education or training - in their profession is to work a few years and are to care for their families and children because they have children in these years.
If and when they enter afterwards in the workforce and are committed to their career, at least in the cases can be answered. Finally, there are some who, after they have children, devote themselves entirely to the budget and also appear to show no interest to develop their careers. From the fact that they continue doing so may create only difficulty is even in sight. On the other hand it is so that a high position usually precedes a course in natural sciences or economics. These programs are but for the most part (80 percent) occupied by men, which gives women much less likely to be able to master the rise as well as their male colleagues.
Another apparent disadvantage of women is their much more cautious demeanor. For a leader it is logical that leadership qualities are required that can be recognized by including the pursuit of success, dominance and assertiveness.
While men certainly bring these qualities and often with a healthy dose of self-esteem, while women often seem more reserved, shy and emotional. This is a position of power less desirable. Another aspect that women are often quite literally in the way, is also the stereotype. KKK - church, kitchen, children, it was said a few decades before our present time. So far-fetched is this formula does not. Either a woman chooses career or children. The two go together, at least in the cases because the man would otherwise be responsible for the children while his wife is working on her career. Which are at least willing to what is not hot, not that there are those families where this is the case.
However, as mentioned, very few men are ready. In most cases, yet covered by the stuck patterns that the woman has to care for children and may neglect their career and therefore must. How can she go to work on a position of power?
The above-mentioned, in women complained emotionality is not too far-fetched, however. For it is indeed the case that women see themselves in a community, while a man apparently has no problem standing alone at the top. Women think more about it, what consequences their actions for others, while men act ruthlessly clear here.
Women find it as part of a community, therefore, often difficult to make decisions alone, which is in such a situation, but often required.
Many of the above reasons why women are less often found in post-ion power lie in the nature of a woman. " So also the next.
Women often do not even feel the desire to rise as far in her career. For them, the profession is not her purpose in life, while the career in life has a much higher priority.
A seen as possible solution for the few women in leadership positions is of family planning. Here, children day care will be strengthened to enable women to both families to be able to keep it as a career also in view. I feel this personally, but widely for something. I just can not imagine a mother who is willing to have their newborn infant in the hands of others, especially not in the first half year. Most mothers want to be with their babies what they are can by no means a grudge. Only I see in this approach only requires a very effective approach.
Another aspect that makes a woman seldom come in such a leadership position is the fact that women often fewer staff will be made available as men. So, women can show only a very limited better than men because they lack the staff. This then seems to confirm the stereotype that a man is better suited for this role, although this view in that case actually completely contrary. It is also important to mention that women are disadvantaged in terms of content is still what makes again clear that it is hard as a woman to get out.
Nevertheless, it is important to note that in a leader is not about sex but about the leadership that Temafähigkeit, prevailing position, work ethic, smarts and creativity, and this which depend on the person and not gender. So you can have a career opportunity as a woman to make. Maybe you have it as a woman but a little heavier, because the stereotypes still dominate the society. A woman has to prove to their male colleagues already mowers, because as already mentioned, women have expected less because of

Answer: I think I get the gist of this, but I can't help you now because I can't tell exactly what you are trying to say. I'll tell you now I think your (and society's) definition of "leadership" is still very much from a masculine point of view; women tend to lead in different ways and if you keep comparing it to the way men do it, you wouldn't recognize it as leadership.
Did you originally write this in German? If you do have a translation, please post it, it will help me and others with a basic understanding of German to revise your English.
PS When do you need it?
*Additional Details*
Well, maybe you should have translated it yourself :) Usually, it's better to write in English directly so you can avoid everything you don't know how to say. I don't mind helping but if all you did was Google translate I'd essentially be doing your homework for you.

Answer: It's a really good start, but I would make a few suggestions:
1) You don't need to list references on a resume; take them to the interview and provide them if you are asked for them.
2) You have a lot of information on here; most hiring managers will not spend a lot of time looking at your resume so less is more provided you effectively highlight your skills. Make sure it fits on one page. I would probably leave out the activities and interests section entirely or cut it down to no more that 3 or 4 bullet points. Likewise, your volunteer experience and "honors" sections should be cut down significantly or you could list "a variety of volunteer experience" as one bullet point under the heading "summary of qualifications."
3) Finally, I would change your objective statement to say, "Pursue entry level employment in culinary arts, retail, customer service OR business management" (although you should obviously make OR lowercase). You should say "or" instead of "and" because I'm assuming you want a job in one of these fields, not all of them at the same time. :-) Good luck!

Does this qualify for Cornell?
I came to US 3 years ago, and now Im planning to apply for early decision to Cornell college in upstate New York. And here is my scenario.
I have a pretty good SAT and ACT scores along with TOEFL (all above 90%) (I think it can mean a lot for a English as a second language learner).
I have an above 4.0 GPA with straight As and mostly APs and honors classes.
Writing an essay is my strong point, Im always on top of my classmates (top 3 or 5) in my English honor class when Im writing an essay.
I attend some extra-curriculum in school (math team, community service, chess club, etc.)
Im working at local Wegman (hopefully you know what it is, its kinda like Walmark in New York State) as a cashier.
I have an extremely outstanding language skills (or communicate skills); I know Japanese and Chinese since theyre my first language. I mastered English faster than anybody. Im also going to take AP Spanish next year.
HOWEVER, here are some of my disadvantages:
I dont play any sport or instrument in school.
I merely have any record of leadership in high school (team captain, student counselors, etc.) (Im a manager of local restaurant though, I have another job beside working at Wegman).
Does this qualify for Cornell? Since Im doing the early decision, does it help? What else should I be aware of? Does playing sports and instruments really require for these top prestige colleges?
Answer: I'm not exactly sure if this helps, but ur kickin my a** as far as school goes. Here's my stats:
3.46 GPA
1760 SAT
25 ACT
I SUCK!!!!! Hope that helped

Choosing the right degree program to land a high level English teaching job in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.?
Hello Everyone,
I did a search and didnt find the info I was seeking so I decided to post this question to pick your brains. I apologize in advance for the long email and also thank you for your responses (the constructive ones.)
I love expat life and have decided to build a career in the TESOL field. Ive therefore decided to pursue my Masters degree while working in South Korea (currently in my first year in Korea.) My current goal is to become well qualitfied for a position in the UAE.
My questions are these:
1- Does my degree have to be from an English speaking country? Im a U.S citizen with a BA in Mass Communications from a U.S university so would it matter to the employers if I earned my Masters degree from a university in Korea? Im considering studying in Korea because it would be more convenient for me as Ill be here for a few years. Of course, Im also researching online degree programs in the U.S but it would be great if I could study in Korea.
2- Based on my research most people have Masters degree in Applied Linguistics or an MA TESOL. Just these 2 options seem limiting to me. Are they?
Id like to position myself to have options in and outside of the classroom and perhaps take some positions with NGOs, etc. Can anyone think of some other TESOL related majors that would qualify me for teacher positions int he UAE and elsewhere in the world but wouldnt necessarily limit me to the classroom forever?
Im looking at Drexel Universitys online program. Im considering the Master of Science in Global and International Education program.
According to the school website:
" Graduates of the The M.S. in Global and International Education program will be qualified to pursue careers in higher education, ESL programs, education abroad, law firms, international education associations, accreditation agencies, local community international outreach centers, U.S. government, international development or human service agencies, non-governmental agencies, as well as act as administrators, managers, and researchers in national and international organizations, foundations, associations, and corporations.
Key Program Features:
•Graduates from the MS program in Global and International Education will possess skills in developing, analyzing, implementing, and evaluating new educational policies at a variety of institutions/organizations or private sector jobs by using cross-cultural perspectives in training employees and researching products.
•Students will also exhibit outstanding leadership, organizational, cross-cultural, interpersonal, and advocacy skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external groups, using present and emerging communication and information technologies. Students will have in-depth knowledge regarding both public and private (non-profit and for-profit) institutions as well as small and large institutions and multi-campus institutions..."
What do you think? Would this be a marketable specialization or do the schools generally want degrees that are more language oriented?
Thanks again!
Answer: Interesting question so I'll honor it with brief but honest answer(s)
1. You're a US citizen; that's a huge plus in the Dubai/UAE market. There's no anti-discrimination law in the UAE and UAE employers favor Westerners and Western credentials. As you may already know, discrimination is a fact of life. So my advice would be to obtain your Master's degree from a Western educational institution.
2. On which program to enroll in, I would say you're on the right track. Fields of expertise - whatever they may be - always find relevance in the academe. You'd fare better in and out of the classroom with a course that's not narrowly focused on teaching or TESOL.
And just for FYI purposes, you might find these pages helpful:

A woman has to prove to th
Answer: Scientifically speaking, more men than women are in leadership positions. It is becoming more debatable as to why men tend to be found in positions of power far more, and the resulting issue of inequality. A common and well-considered response is that of family planning. Often it is just that women (who often boast higher exam successes) are not solely intent on developing their career in the long term. In most cases, women go after graduation - or education or training - in their profession with the aim of working for a few years and then caring for their families and the children that they have had during this time.
If and when they re-enter into the workforce and are committed to their career, at least in these cases can be answered.??*
Finally, there are some who, after they have children, devote themselves entirely to the budget and also appear to show no interest in developing their careers. The fact that they often continue doing so may create difficulties. On the other hand it is so that a high position usually precedes a course in natural sciences or economics. These programs are but for the most part (80 percent) occupied by men, which makes women much less likely to be able to master the rise as well as their male colleagues.
Another apparent disadvantage for women is their much more cautious demeanour. For a leader it is logical that recognisable qualities can be demonstrated, including the pursuit of success, dominance and assertiveness.
While men certainly bring these qualities and often with a healthy dose of self-esteem, women often seem more reserved, shy and emotional. This is less desirable in a position of power. Another aspect that women are often quite literally in the way, is also the stereotype. KKK - church, kitchen, children, it was said a few decades before our present time. So far-fetched is this 'formula' does not.* Either a woman chooses her career or her children. According to the stereotype it is more suitable for the woman to care for the children, otherwise the man would be responsible for the children while his wife is working on her career. Which are at least willing to what is not hot, not that there are those families where this is the case.*
However, as mentioned, very few men are ready. In most cases, the set pattern is that the woman has to care for children, and may neglect their career in doing so. How can she then progress to work in a position of power?
The above-mentioned, regarding women’s emotional suitability is not too far-fetched, however. For it is indeed the case that women see themselves in a community, while a man apparently has no problem standing alone at the top. Women think more about it, what consequences their actions for others, while men are inclined to act ruthlessly.

One possible solution for the few women in leadership positions is of family planning. The truth about post-military education?
Hi there. Im a 68-whiskey (health care specialist) in the DEP for Army. Im also currently enrolled as a freshman in the Grove School of Engineering at the City College of New York, as a mechanical engineering major. My ship date for Basic Training is March 8th, 2011. That means I can finish my first semester of college since it ends December 25th, 2010, but my 2nd semester will indefinitely be interrupted. Now, assuming everything goes well and my school accommodates me for my period of absence (4 year enlistment), I should be able to return and finish up my bachelors degree, yes? For the same thing that I initially enrolled as a high school graduate? Other wise, I would have to look to enroll in a completely different school if my school does not hold my place, using my GI Bill in the process.
Now I have to ask, because this is according to the statistics and other sources such as this: http://chronicle.com/article/Veterans-Use-Benefits-of-New/65914/
Is it true that really the best veterans can get to continue their academic careers are community colleges and for-profit organizations? Places that arent often regionally-accredited? Is admissions to private colleges and "upper tier" universities (the ones typically high school graduates strive to get into during a "normal" academic career) extremely difficult or impossible? Ive read about schools that are "military-friendly" and schools that are not, and also private universities that are part of the "Yellow Ribbon" program to accept more veterans, but it seems this is simply not the case most of the time. Id also like to know how easy access to education is for active duty personnel. I read about eArmyEd, online courses, correspondence learning, and attending satellite campuses around your permanent duty station, but I have to wonder: How hard is it to fit into your schedule as an active duty person? I imagine its even more impossible on deployment. My recruiter says its all about time management, but Im not so sure anymore. If I wanted to attend a private or public college with those strict admission standards as I have tried as a high school senior during college applications, would it be near impossible for me after my enlistment is over? Here are the few ways I can recall for most veterans to attend school during and after their tour of duty:
- eArmyEd
- Online courses/correspondence courses (using the Tuition assistance program)
- GI Bill to attend school after enlistment is over
- attending surrounding schools (satellite campuses) around their duty station
- Green-to-Gold Program
- Applying for admission to the United States Military Academy (West Point) as an enlisted applicant (extremely difficult)
And Id like to ask one final question while were at it: Are military veterans prime candidates for an MBA (Masters in Business Administration)? Ive seen a vague relationship between military service and success as a business major, such as with that TV show, The Apprentice, where the winner was a veteran. Ive also seen it preached elsewhere: that the "leadership" experience of combat training and whatnot lends well to success as a business major. Is this what they preach at schools like Wharton, Stern, Harvard business, etc?
Thanks for all your help! (Very sorry for the wall of text, Ill understand if you tl;dr)
Answer: It is up to your university whether or not they will hold your spot for you or not. That's not the military's decision. You are right about finding time to take classes on your own time. It may or may not be feasible. If you make it a priority, you should be able to take some. Just take some with a school that your planned post-Army college will accept as transfer credit! You will have to do your research.
Many Veterans start at Community College due to various reasons - affordability, lack of academic preparation for a 4 year university, convenient location. They may choose the "for profit" schools because of the accelerated degree programs and lower admissions standards. However, you can use the Post 9/11 GI Bill towards whatever school you choose. It will cover in state tuition at a public college or university. And you can use that same level towards any other school - many private schools have a Yellow Ribbon agreement with the VA to fully fund tuition.
Veterans get accepted to colleges on their own merits, just like every other applicant. Military service will not hinder your chances. Indeed, it may help your case in getting in, and most Veterans find that their maturity and life experiences are a definite bonus in class. Just be aware, if your school is heavily "traditional" (18-22 year olds) you will feel very very old at first. Not just because you're four years older but because you spent the past four years in a very challenging and sometimes life-threatening environment, being pushed to your limits, while the "kids" were living at home with Mom and Dad. You'll likely find you get on better with the students over 30. ;)
