Past Employment
Strawberries and Cream for South of England Show -2010
I worked at a strawberries and cream stand from 8am to 5pm, even though this was a long day of work without a lunch break I stayed positive and polite to all customers, this even encouraged many to come back for a second time to buy more. I believe that I have a friendly and easy to get on with personality that will do well in working life.
The Emperor Restaurant 2008 – 2009
I have gained a lot of skills from working at a restaurant, such as good communication with customers and other co-workers, working well with other people, working efficiently and listening to instructions carefully. I learnt to be observant to my surroundings and to work under pressure or in a relaxed environment but still have a good work ethic.
Work Experience/ Volunteering
Gateway 2009 - Present
This is a place that helps people with disabilities; I have helped out there as a volunteer this year. It is a good experience and has especially enhanced my ability to adapt to different situations. It has helped me become more open minded and has given me a more caring prospective to people around me.
Nutley Hall 2009
This institution for people with learning difficulties, I gained work experience from here for a week and I am highly likely to return because I loved helping out. Nutley Hall is similar to Gateway because it is social care place apart from Gateway is just on a few nights a week where as Nutley is a permanent place for people with disabilities.
Gambia Trip 2010
I have recently come back from a trip to the Gambia, Africa and taught basic science to three different schools including a school for deaf children. This was an eye-opening trip and I thoroughly enjoyed myself because I love working with the children and I am willing to take on any new challenges that come my way. During the year we also fundraised money before we went out to provide these schools with some new equipment. I have had many great experiences from this trip and I hope to continue work that involves helping others.

Answer: Hi Cheryl,
How old did you say you were? Your curriculum vitae looks fine - both in content and format - for someone ONLY 17 years old! Where are you seeking employment and in what industries are you looking? I see that you are fluent in English and Cantonese! In the United States, these skills alone would make you very marketable. I am brushing up on my Spanish right now and I am also planning to add another language to my skills. Perhaps 1) Cantonese 2)Mandarin and/or 3)Korean. Languages help to keep one mentally fresh and in the case of employment, gives a leading edge in the upsurging global marketplace. If you are in the U.S. and can tell me the industry you are looking in I can give you a little more comprehensive help before your question expires on Saturday! Maybe your weakness is in where you are seeking employment and perhaps how? Are you observing the all the codes of conduct in your job search i.e. business attire? arriving promptly? bringing copies of your resume? do you have a cover letter? have you prepared a list of questions to ask at the interview? are you interviewing properly and practicing before the actual interview (this has been a weakness for me in the past)? Just to make sure you are up on all your points, Please take a look at the link to 1:00 minute videos on YouTube that are from an expert in the field, Brian Kreuger of the Job Search Minute. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGRrr9BV4Xc
Should you have a weakness that needs improvement his videos are really great. Take A Look! Take Care! Dezzy.

Should I beat up this bully?
There is this guy is school, that has be picking on me for a while (round about 2 years now) Ive always walked the other way because I though I would be the bigger man, and that he would give up. I have told teachers but they do nothing.
Recently, Ive had enough of this kid, and Ive been more physical towards him, and Ive gotten in his face, ready for a fight, and to show him Im not scared.
Not only does he bully more, he bullies everyone else, people younger, people with disabilities and girls. When I see this it pisses more off and I want to just beat the shit out of him, but he is always with his friends. But in one lesson none of his friends are with him, and Im in this class, and I know I could easily beat the shit out of this kid, and I want to do it.
The only problem is, I want to go to 6th form and do A levels, if I do this I may be ruining my future, and I may not be accepted in to 6th form because of this. This will only be the first bad thing I do in school, as I have been a good person it the last years.
That and he may get his friends on me afterwards, I know I can beat them up too, just there may be a gang of them, like me against 14 (no jokes) but my friends would help me. ;)
So, should I beat him up or what?
By the way, this kid thinks he is all that, and everyone really hates him, and wants to see me beat the shit out of him.
Answer: If you know you can win a fight against him, wait until he does something to provoke you then you just need to provoke him back so he pushes you then you should push him back, then if he hits you which he probably will if he bullies people,
Beat that guy into his place: under your boot!
I have had a fight with someone that was a bully and I went about fighting him in the way I just said and I didn't even get suspended for it!
so if you know you can win a fight against him go for it but if you can't win just back off and wait until you can win

People becoming a police officer with learning disabilities?
I am a 30 year old male. I was born with Developmental Delay Disability and I am slightly Learning Disablied. I grew up going to special education schools. Developmental Delay is a term used to describe life-long disabilities attributable to mental and/or physical or both. Do to that situation I also have learning disability disorder: A learning disability disorder is found in children of normal intelligence who have difficulties in learning specific skills. Unfortunelly mine was my learning process when it came to learning in school and passing test with out a lot of studing on the material that will be on the exam or test. Now that I am older and over came most of my disablity, but I will always be disablied.
Okay will to make the point of my question is, I also wanted to be a police officer, but I am afraid I will not pass the written test exam and if I do and that I am hired, I am not sure that I could handle the actual police work of being out there on the road. Basically as what I see being a police officer is more complexed that beign a private security guard, which I have experience being a security guard.
Is it a good idea for people who have learning disablities to become a police officer.
I am not really sure if there are people like me who have learning disablites that are police officers.
My disabilities are reading , math and comprehension processing.
I really want to be a police , but part of me says I cant do it and part of me says I am able to do the patroling and looking for suspicious activity.
I am taking karate shorin ryu, will that help with learning the self defense tactics ?
Plus I have no experience with the laww codes and traffic codes are thoughs easy to go over when on the road as a police officer ?
Answer: Have you thought about being an AUXILLARY policer officer or SPECIAL officer-
an auxillary officer is a volunterr offficer-youw mnay get to work side by side with teh full time officers occasssionally-usually at special events liek fairs or in major emergencies liek a flood...they do not carry guns (in my town)
a special offier is a paid officer who is brought in when the town needs extra coverage for a special event or project
they are full police officers with a gun
you can get soem experience to see if you can do it
you can get some accommodations--like extra time on tests...for report writing-you may be allowed to stay after your shift to finish.
comprehgensionmay be an issue when youa re called to court as lawyers will try to trick you.
you may have been mislabeled as developmentally disabled
technically:
What is Developmental Disability?
There are approximately 4.5 million individuals with developmental disabilities in the United States. Developmental disabilities (DD) are severe, life-long disabilities attributable to mental and/or physical impairments, manifested before age 22. Developmental disabilities result in substantial limitations in THREE or more areas of major life activities:
capacity for independent living
economic self-sufficiency
learning
mobility
receptive and expressive language
self-care
self-direction
so not every disability meets the definition of developmental disability just because it starts before teh age of 22-the facts indicate that learnign disabilities (like dyslexia without intellectual impairment) and vision impairment do NOT meet the definition as there is NOT impairment in at least 3 areas....the impairment is in 2 at the most--and with intervention-only 1 area remains impaired-at most-and in some cases none..

How can I reword this into a hypothesis?
This is the original question:
Provide 3 different hypotheses about the reason for the correlation of .6 between depressive symptoms and amount of T.V. watched. For each hypothesis, devise an experiment to test your hypothesis (3 experiments total). Your experiments do not necessarily have to be practical or ethical. Be sure to specify what the experimental and control groups are, and what the independent and dependent variables are for each experiment.
These are my hypotheses that I came up with:
1. People who dont have much of a social life are more likely to become depressed then people who go out and spend time with friends; the former will tend to stay home and watch TV.
2. People who are overweight and lead a sedentary lifestyle are more likely to be depressed form lack of self esteem; instead, they will stay home and watch more TV.
3. People with physical and/or mental disabilities are more likely to stay indoors watching hours of TV rather than going out due to the physical and/or mental limitations their disability causes, which leads them to become depressed.
But I dont know (1) how to reword it in an "if-then" statement (2) how to identify the independent and dependent variables?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
Answer: That's a tough one. Good luck.
1. I think you have to start with a proven valid link. Social isolation is proven to be a contributing factor in depression. (Depression also causes social isolation.) So then, you must make the case that the socially isolated people watch more TV than socially active. But does watching TV make a person more socially isolated? I don't know if that is true.
Have a control group watch 10 hrs tv per week for experiment.
Have variable group(s) watch more (20 hrs or 40 hrs per week).
Then compare rates of depression.
2. I don't think that it has been proven that overweight people have low self-esteem. Depressed people who take medication are, however, more likely to gain weight as a side effect of most anti-depressants. Given that your assumption is correct however, this hypothesis might work: If a person is depressed because he is overweight and leads a sendentary life, he is more likely to stay home and watch TV.
compare overweight tv viewers hrs versus average weight tv viewing hr.

I work for an agency that helps people with mental and physical disabilities to become more independent and become a part of the community. I am trying to find some workbooks that cover independent living skills, stress and anger managment, and relationships. However due to limited funding we can not afford to spend alot on these workbooks right now. The individuals done stated that they would love to have some workbooks to work in. Does anyone know of any businesses or agencys that give out free workbooks covering these topics? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

question with majors/possible pre-med...?
i graduated class of 08 & wanted to take a year or two off of school. now i am training service dogs for people with physical disabilities & see how much that helps them. i want to be able to help people more & am thinking about possibly going to med school. would it be possible to major animal science, minor psychology, & still be pre-med? i would like to to that in case i decide med school isnt right for me. the ani-sci & psych would still benefit me with the training service dogs. would this be possible? would it be advisable?
also, would going back after 2 years make me a non-traditional student? im not sure what i would be classified as.
Answer: Contrary to the popular belief of many people, med school course requirements are actually very open. The only real benefits of going in to a pre-med program is you don't need to go out of your way to fill these requirements, or study much extra for the MCATs.
Point is, you could go in to English, Philosophy, or any non-science degree, get the science prerequisites (which are usually several biology and chemistry courses, some physics, and usually some writing), and go to med school (and many people do this).
Your current direction sounds like you're set.
I don't think you're a non-traditional student. Call the school to be sure.

Special Ed and Regular Ed teachers, can you help out an Elementary and Special Ed Major?
For my Inclusive Education class I have to interview Special Ed Teachers and Regular Ed teachers about a few different topics. I have emailed teachers from the middle school I went to and havent received any replies and I am desperate. Please, if you get the chance, answer these questions for me. It will be greatly appreciated!!!! I am in Philadelphia and I feel like I have nowhere to turn for this project. I really thought the teachers from my home town would be a little more helpful. This and a few other activities are basically my grade. I am a first year Senior Elementary and Special Ed Major and I cant wait to graduate.
1. What are your thoughts and feelings about Inclusive Education?
2. What aspects do you find stressful about your position?
3. What do you find the most rewarding about your position?
4. Where do you see the field of Special Education heading? (With technological advances for people with physical disabilities, more options for people with learning disabilities and it being more widely accepted), Inclusion being seen in more schools.
5. Have any noticeable improvements taken place in your district during your time teaching? (In terms of policy or practice)
6. What do you hope to see in the future within the Special Education field (in your district and elsewhere)?
Please get back to me as soon as possible!! Thank you soooooooooooo much!! :-)
Answer: 1. Inclusion is not a panacea and can be the wrong thing for any particular child, depending on the individual child and what kind of disability we're talking about. Generally, it is good for kids to mix and learn about differences and so forth. Inclusion is great for socialization. In the lower grades inclusion is fine for academics; however, the farther up the grades you go, the more difficult it is for students to be truly included. I've seen a lot of kids just totally stress out because they are having to sit through a lecture where topics are totally over their heads. This not not the point of inclusion. I have also seen kids with severe behavior issues (attacking, screaming, etc.) put into a general ed. classroom and disrupt the other students' learning. Inclusion is a fine balance of both the needs of the student with disabilities, as well as the needs of the other children in the class.
2. Paperwork is the most stressful thing about my job that I encounter on a daily basis. I went into SPED thinking I'd be spending most of the time teaching. No so. I spend more time supervising aides and doing those types of managerial tasks. Had I known this, I would not have gone into SPED to begin with.
3. I get to spend 5 years with the kids I teach (grades 4-8) and get to know them very well. The most rewarding thing is seeing them up on stage graduating in June and then hearing about how well they are doing at high school, and seeing them in town working, being in Special Olympics and having good lives. That makes all the teeny tiny little steps of learning through those 5 years in my class worth it.
4. I see SPED taking a more balanced approach to inclusion. Ten years ago the pendulum swung hard towards total inclusion for every single child period. Prior to that the pendulum was swinging hard towards total exclusion, special schools for every single child period. I'm seeing a more balanced approach that considers the real needs of each child and is much more useful for the child and less of political maneuvering, fighting between SPED/GEN ED. Some kids just don't learn best and need a special campus school at one time or another during their school career. Each child's current needs/situation is being taken more into consideration when placement is discussed.
5. Noticeable improvements. Yes. At the school where I teach the program for mildly disabled kids (LD etc.) who also had behavioral issues, was disbanded. These kids are doing fine with a roving behavioral specialist addressing their needs in the general ed setting.
6. I hope to see more people teaching special education. I hope to see less paperwork. I hope that people will continue to make the child's actual needs the primary consideration--not funding or what you want the child to be/do at this moment, but is beyond the child's reach right now. Being real in assessing situations. I would hope to see everyone in education working well together and that the bias against parents, however subtle, lessen systemically.

Christmas gift ideas for kids with mental disabilities?
Near my town, there is an orphanage with about 80 kids with mental and physical disabilities. About 15 of those kids, their biological parents, even though cant keep them (money issues, hey keeping a disabled kid costs a heck of a lot more than "normal" kids....trust me, Im one of them, so i should know) they still see them every so often, and send them Christmas presents. That means that 65 kids in that orphanage, dont get presents. (their parents abandoned them completely)
Anyway, Im helping out a friend of mine...shes looking for sponsors for these 65 kids. What the sponsors do is...simply get the boy/girl a Christmas present for this year. Its a big deal for these kids because, well, its the only gift they have gotten all year. (Im sponsoring 3 of them)
Ok Ill make this quick, enough with the typing:
Boy: Jonaikel is 13, with Down Syndrome. (He wasnt specific on what he wanted, the slip of paper just said he wanted whatever...haha, cute)
Girl: Fabiola is 12, with infantile paralysis AKA poliomyelitis. (the people at the orphanage, said something with bright lights and lots of sounds would make her day..shes also a size 12 or 14)
Girl: Keylin is 10 with a case of mental retardation (She said she wanted dolls or barbies)
Now, Im physically disabled...so..I dont know much about mental disabilities in kids..so I dont know what they are like what would fit their lifestyle.
Like for example, should the barbies/dolls be soft, or can they be hard? And toys with lights and sounds, should they be soft or hard (you know, so if they get too too excited with them one day, they wont hurt themselves)
So if you guys know of kids with these cases or have kids with these disabilities please give me some advice?
I really appreciate the help to all of you. God bless yall :)
Answer: Jonaikel: A soccer, volley or some kind of softer ball, something like this:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/CHAMPION-SPORT-Soccer-Ball-Coated-Foam-12-oz.-Yellow-Black/14590650 or http://www.walmart.com/ip/POOF-Junior-Sporting-Goods-Volleyball-in-Box/15822155
Balls make good gifts. He can play with it alone by bouncing it against a wall or he can get a group of friends and play a game with it. Good for developing motor skills
Fabiola: A keyboard, something like this:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Disney-Princess-Royal-Melodies-Keyboard/17193686
I think this would be a good gift for her. The heart lights up and it plays music when you hit the keys. It's good for teaching cause and effect.
Keylin: I would get her a doll, something like this:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Baby-Alive-Baby-s-New-Teeth-Doll/17176338
I think this would be the perfect gift for her. It will teach her how to take care of her teeth, and hair and enforces potty training skills if she isn't yet.
**These are only suggestions of what to get them. I am not recommending any particular store Wallmart just popped in my head you can get these toys at other stores.
Also why don't you and your friend take a ride to this orphanage and do some volunteer work there before getting them the toys and get to know them.

I have a bad feeling i never find a girlfriend. help.?
Well i did not date in high school i was very shy and had social anxiety and did not have many friends. I went to college and dated a few girls but did not hit it off. I finished college and did not date for a bit and made Friends and stuff. I am not shy any more and feel good about my self. I am a nice guy for the most part I wish woman liked nice guys more . I am not a door mate and i am very independent person.
I dated one girl for 6 months and she the one i lost my virginity to. she said she cared about me and liked me but it was a lie. She was a friend of mine and broke up with her bf and we never went out we just hung out and had sex and then she was done with me . Also had a new BF soon after like in a week or so.
So now i am 28 and have a job a car and my own place , but i am busy cuz i am currently going back to college to become a physical therapy assistant. My job OK but it a dead end job and it is nothing i am passion at about doing forever . Retail sucks and i do not like it at all so it was time to do some thing new.
the road is going to be a long one. I still have to take a few math class , cellular biology, anatomy and physiology 1 &2 , general physics, medical terminology.
On top of that i still am going to be working 40 hours a week.
Then i still have to job shadow. There are a few places i am looking into like the childrens hospital , VA hospital, outpatient physical therapist places, Center for Autism working with kids. elementary school kids with special needs. to name a few.
I think i want to work with kids with disabilities and kids autism and cerebral palsy.also work with kids who need help improving gross and fine motor skills, balance and coordination, strength and endurance as well as cognitive and sensory processing/integration. Children with developmental delays, cerebral palsy, spinal bifida. things like that.
To me kids do not bug me at all and i a good listener and i have a ton of patiences and very easy going kinda guy. Also i am sensitive and have empathy for people.also very good at encouraging and teaching people and i have a calm and soothing voice.
Then i have to find a job in the medical field . then i have to apply to get into the physical therapy assistant program. then i have two yeas to once i get in and have to do 700 hours of clinical hours. then i will be a full time student 8am till 4pm five days a week.
currently i am going to learn to rock climb and i am taking a fencing class. got to have some fun.
I just do not have the time to date and it sucks I want some one to spend time with. Most of my friends are married or into drugs or moved. I have no one sad . It be nice to meet a girl to hang out with. I plan to meet new people woman mostly and just go with the flow. If i do meet a girl and we hang out and go out and we hit it off I know to be confident and all. meeting women is easy their a lot nicer to me now lol. So finding a date will not be hard. I just worry I never find the one.
I just do not want to be 30 and never had a long term GF i feel like woman will laugh at me or not understand. I am just relay determined to get into the physical therapy assistant program. so good grades will help me get in.
having a girl friend will distract me from studying and my goal right now.

Has anyone under 30 years old found any dating web sites where more young handicapped people have joined?
I just turned 28 on August 12. Boy, how time flies!! Just yesterday I was a naïve 13-year-old moving to a new state and starting middle school. WOW!!
Anyway, I am in a wheelchair for the time being due to a medical mistake that left me having to learn how to walk all over again.
Otherwise, I function just like any other average 28-year-old though I still live with my parents.
My moms car is adapted with hand controls so I drive. Gosh, how I hate highways, LOL!!!
I work from home but do frequent my jobs main office downtown often.
I do sometimes need a little help when going to the bathroom and/or shower but that is getting easier.
I am currently a member of eharmony.com and have met some REALLY nice guys in my desired age range, profession, geographic area, etc. who dont immediately balk when I tell them that I am in a wheelchair.
BUT, unfortunately, I have also come across a good number of guys, who I wait to tell until Ive talked to them for a REALLY long time and seem to get along with, but upon my telling them they either immediately cease contact, slowing disappear, never to be heard from again or they come up with some lame a** excuse as to why they cant talk to me anymore.
Since this has happened, I have ALWAYS been of the mind that the wheelchair is MERELY my temporary mode of transportation NOT WHO I AM!!! I maintain healthy outlook on life and see NO reason to be depressed despite others finding it “fascinating
and “odd” that I am not on first, any anti-depressant medication, second, jealous of people that CAN walk and third (my fave) have thoughts of suicide.
I am NOT any of these because whether it be in the outside world or online, I have found guys that just CANNOT get past my current physical disability to get to know the person inside and I just say F**K YOU, YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE MISSING!!
But, back to my original question.
Does anyone know of any dating web sites where young physically handicapped people frequent??
Thanks to anyone who replies.
P.S. I have tried match.com and jdate.com (dating site for Jewish people.)
If ANYONE reading this is physically handicapped and looking for dating web site to try, take my advice and STAY AWAY FROM THESE!!
I know from personal experience that they DO NOT have caring people as members.
TRUST ME!!

I believe people with depression and anxiety deserve educational privileges, do you agree?
Ive had depression for years, am in high school now, and it definitely has affected my education in negative ways. I believe people with depression in public schools should be given educational privileges or benefits, just like people with tourettes (though i rarely see them get benefits from public schools either), physical disabilities, or mental retardation. Im not saying mental retardation is in the same category as depression or tourettes, though I deserve to get a break every once in a while because of my mental disorder. I feel as if i could have been so much more (academically and socially) if I didnt have depression. However, I am in the top rankings of my class - Ive worked hard.
I am aware medicine exists, but it doesnt help 100% and can have negative side effects. Maybe only a person with depression will understand my point of view? Or do you agree?

Is this fair to people with disabilities?
Here is a letter I sent to my congressman, senators, governer and the US president. Please send this letter to anyone who can help change our laws and add this to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
To whom it may concern:
I have worked as a caregiver for individuals with developemental disabilties for the past 13 years.
I have personally run into many situations in which my clients have not been able to attend events due to the fact that the agency cannot afford to pay for both the clients and the accompanying staff. Even when the agency can afford the caregiver fee, direct money is then taken away from these clients programs.
Just to give you a specific example, I currently work with a 19 year old man with severe autism. (Well call him John). He cannot talk and certainly cannot go anywhere unattended as he does not have safety awareness and cannot protect himself or advocate for himself when needed. John loves going to places such as rock concerts and amusement parks. John frequently needs two staff accompanying him on an outing due to particular behavioral concerns.
On some occasions John as well as many other clients I have worked with over the years, have not been able to attend local amusment parks, plays and concerts, movies, etc. because the agency could not afford the staff fees... or if we did attend, money was taken away from Johns program to pay for staff.
This situation frustrates me beyond belief! Here we have a 19-year-old with a severe disability who may never be able to work for himself or make money independently and yet he is frequently charged adult rates (not child or senior rates) in addition to one or more caregivers who are also being charged full price.
In enacting the Americans with Disabilities act "Congress recognized that physical and mental disabilities in no way diminish a persons right to fully participate in all aspects of society, but that people with physical or mental disabilities are frequently precluded from doing so because of prejudice, antiquated attitudes, or the failure to remove societal and institutional barriers."
These caregiver fees and full price (adult rate) fees are societal barriers that prevent people like John from fully participating in the community as they might be able to if they could make their own money and attend events by themselves.
I am proposing a law and an ammendment to the ADA that does not charge caregivers for accompanying those individuals that could not otherwise attend entertaining events; and that individuals with severe disabilities are not charged full price for attending these events, as they do not have the opportunity to make the same kind of money that a fully functional independent adult does.
Please take this proposal seriously as we as a community are obliged to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Thank you for your time.
Answer: There's a difference between a want and a need. Is going to rock concerts and amusement parts essential to "John's" survival or well being? No they are not, they are luxuries. I'd like to to take up aviation, but I can't exactly afford an airplane. Using the logic displayed here, I should be entitled to lessons and an airplane at tax payer expense. Of course I'm not though. But still there are things that I would like to do, but don't because it's not financially prudent to. I'm certainly not entitled to these things, and neither is "John". If it were a different scenario where "John" was being denied food or shelter, then yeah, that would be a problem and you would have a valid complaint. But going to concerts and theme parks aren't critical to a person's well being.

Anorexia treatment, travel to America?
Hello,
I have suffered from anorexia since I was 11, I am now 18. Im constantly in and out of hospital and have almost died several times due to low levels and organs starting to fail.
I also briefly went to a general adolescent unit, but it was more damaging than good, and did not accommodate people with physical disabilities (use of wheel chair and several diseases).
We have had to fight 8 years for help, both for Fibro and other diseases, and anorexia (+ OCD, anxiety disorders), and have had no such look because my case is "too complex" and I just get passed around.
My question is, can it be possible to travel to America for treatment, if your own country has failed (and acknowledged this) to offer you treatment? Places such as Remuda Ranch, would they take a person from England, and would they accommodate a person with a wheel chair?
I have a friend who was able to travel there for treatment partly funded by the health care system here, and I was wondering if that would still be the case, if they have medically failed you in your own country (as I know this is feasible for Europe).
Also, if any one has any experience with Remuda Ranch or any similar treatment centres, and could share how they found it, Id find that really helpful, thank you.

I have a physical disability.. I dont even think about dating...?
Hey, so I have a physical disability. I have a form of muscular dystrophy ( SMA type 3) and Im basically just really, really weak. I can walk and looking at me you wouldnt be able to tell anything is wrong.
When I walk, I walk with a limp though because of my SMA & VERY bad scoliosis. So thats pretty embarrassing. Ive gotten made fun of a lot for it.
Because of my SMA I cant walk for long periods of time, jump, run, go up stairs normally or many at all, go up curbs, drive with foot pedals and a lot more. Basically anything that requires a lot of muscles. I know none of these things are a big deal, I know it could be a lot worse, I really do appreciate the things I can do.
These things dont really bother me on a daily basis. Im use to them! I just think they are embarrassing to talk about and think about when it comes to dating. I dont think any guy would ever give me a chance. I feel embarrassed going up stairs around guys and I know thats so lame !
Like who wants to date the disabled girl when there are a million girls that are better?
I feel like I have been left out of a lot of things that people my age do because of my disability and I feel like Im almost an inconvenience and a pain? I never get invited anywhere...
Sorry this is so long ! I just have no confidence. I know it could be worse for me, I really do. Guys have just never been interested in me and I feel like its because Im disabled. Maybe Im just ugly though?
So anyway, anybody with physical disabilities have any advice in dating? Any stories to share with me? Thank you so much for the help!
Answer: Hi there,
I'll say what I normally say,
I am physically Disabled. Wheelchair user since I was 6. I am also a lower leg amputee. I am a (almost) 21 year old female.
I have a Partner of 3 years, he is my 3rd serious relationship.
I have a young daughter,
I have my own place and look after it
I manage my bills and money,
I cook all the meals for the house
I am also in further education to hopefully have a long career.
I lost my Virginity in my teens. I had many relationships as a young teenager, nothing serious but the normal puppy love type of relationships.
Yes, there are plenty of guys who don't find me attractive but there are many who do too. Just like every other girl.
I believe your biggest problem is that you don't believe yourself to be worthy of anyone. So how is anyone going to approach you? Guys fear rejection.
I try very hard to stay confident. I value myself as a human being and I love living. People pick up on this. They pick up on the fact that my Disability isn't an issue for me, the outcome is, it is then no longer an issue for them.
Confidence is they key.
Feel free to email me.

Is there a wiccan spell for this?
I am studying Wicca. I believe its the religion for me and I believe in it. I do not know enough to know if there is actually a spell for this help
There is this guy and he hates me because I rejected him. He is an asshole to everyone now and not in a normal way: he says he is the reincarnation of Hitler and he wants to finish what Hitler started only his target are 1 me(he said Id be first to go) 2 races that arent white 3 people with physical disabilities and 4 people with mental disorders.
He has caused alot of pain. He helped me when I was developing an eating disorder and he fed me the insecurities that landed me in an eating disorder clinic and hes turned people against me with lies. Hes ruined romantic relationships and he takes any opertunity he has to put me down. I cant take it any more. I want a spell that doesnt harm him but teaches him a lesson. I want him to see the evil of his ways. please help me hes ruining my life
thank you so much. I know i know i guess i was just really upset and wanted to do something. nothing to harm him of course just to show him. Also to not only protect me but other people. I am not the only person he told about his plan to purge the earth of "vermin" as he call anyone who is not like him
Answer: This boy sounds really weird. Okay, couple sites that can give you more information, they come recommended by Wicca I've seen on this site:
http://www.witchvox.com
http://www.wicca.com
Now, little Buddhist (I think) thing I learned. You never wish harm on another (true in Wicca as well), BUT you can wish the absolute best for them, AND that it happens for them in Northern Minnesota or some other place far away. It works. I even did it in prison and you obviously can't send a person far away in that setting but I just never seemed to notice them anymore. Give it a try, it does work.
Edit: listen to Miss Dementia, too. She knows her stuff!
Blessings on your Journey!
