can you help me make this sound good?
the log is red and yellow and looks like a dog..next to a little riverbank... there was a bird of many colors that stank....the colored bird went for a swim and met a baby croc that called him jim..the bird left the water and met a monkey..who ate him before he could say something..the monkey was still not full,he said this is bull..he began to chase the croc and caught him, making him stew in a pot..the monkey still wanted to snack,so he walked back and back in the bush, thinking he would make his mate the next bait..instead he found some hens, eating them before they could spin..he then met a killer banana named santana, who had a carrot for a gun..the carrot went crazy, putting santana in a basin..the monkey ran to make another plan..the carrot gave chase running the monkey all over the place..the monkey met a chin that promised a win..the chin lost and the carrot was still boss..in the end the monkey did win, eating carrot sticks and sipping on gin..
Then the monkeys proceeded to eat the elephant. It was so tasty that he just had to have more. After searching, he stumbled across some more food. A teacher. A very geeky looking one at that. The monkey decided that unfortunately this teacher must die, so he got out his biro pen, and violently stabbed the teacher in the head. Just as the teacher took her last breath, out popped the book of learning. Little paper balls came dropped from the sky, almost out of nowhere! The teacher regain conciousness and they begun a huge paper fight. This made the monkey furious! Just as a paper ball went into the monkey eye, he picked up some gum and started chewing on it. Slowly, the teacher shrunk and died.
Then, the monkey found some more food -- it was Big Bird -- but he did not want to kill him because he liked Big Bird. So he kept on walking until he found a girl that had pink eyes. He did not like the pink eyes, so he ripped out the ugly things and ate them. This caused the little girl to become angry and cry for Big Bird. Big Bird came flying with Elmo, who had a gun to fire at the monkey, but the monkey found Elmos goldfish. Now this was not just a goldfish; it was a bee goldfish with a stinger on its head. The monkey threw the bee goldfish at Elmo, causing Elmo and Big Bird to fall to the ground.
Elmo walked down the dark street, his eyes darting madly back and forth. He was on a trip, he knew this much at least. He felt something digging into the waistband of his pants. He tugged it out, and was shocked to discover it was a gun. Well, on a normal day he would be shocked, but he was too blitzed to care. However, what happened next made him care. The gun turned around to face him, a little set of eyes and a little metal mouth opening on its side to make a face. The background dissolved into a Technicolor blur, and Elmo felt his eyes being drawn towards the drug-induced hallucination. Suddenly, the giant, silver, frowning gun spoke. Harshly, blasting a wave of icy cold water of Elmos brain. "Elmo! You cant go round shootin people! specially not that retard of a monkey!".

Chapter I: Alex Beyond
A wisp of smoke emitted from the small cottage. Sarah trudged up the frosted grass hill, the early morning chill sending shivers down her back, and the small chirps coming from the trees made her smile. She turned around to face her house, shielding her eyes from the sun with her hand, and checking for her grandparents. She rubbed her bare arms, wishing she’d brought her jacket.
Sarah turned again and knocked on the wooden door of the house. A short, blonde-haired man opened the door and looked at her with certain distaste, his brown eyes searching.
“Good morning, Mr. Beyond,” Sarah cleared her throat and shifted her weight, “Can I see Alex?”
“Hmm,” Mr. Beyond grunted, “Alex! Boy, your friend is over!”
She cringed at his gruff voice and looked past the stout man to see his wife in the simple living room. Her long, red hair hung to her shoulders and her slender figure was bent over Kaycee, Alex’s little sister.
Sarah felt something tug at her stomach. She was angry, restless, and had the odd urge to scream. She sighed, it was not the first time she’d been envious of Alex. Though his parents may not love him as much as parents could, at least Alex had parents. Sarah’s had abandoned her when she was two.
A sudden thumping interrupted her thoughts and she looked towards the stairs, which Alex was racing down.
“Sarah!” Alex exclaimed, spotting his friend, his blue eyes twinkling. He sprinted past his father and grabbed Sarah in a strong embrace.
Sarah pressed her chin on the eleven-year-old’s large shoulder and closed her eyes in delight at seeing her best friend again after two months. A scream broke their hug. Alex turned, holding Sarah’s arm gently. Sarah spotted Kaycee, who’d waken up due to the racket Alex’d caused and was now bawling.
She also spotted Alex’s mother, who’s red, thin lips were pursued, her orange eyebrows turned in, and her icy blue eyes were flashing with annoyance. Sarah knew the look well, Alex’s mother wore it often, Sarah was surprised it hadn’t become permanent on her face by now.
Alex quickly slipped his usual grey sweatshirt on and grabbed his camouflage jacket for Sarah. He handed it to her and closed the door behind him as the two friends headed down the hill.
He stuck his hands in his torn jean’s pockets as Sarah put the large jacket on, the sleeves covering her small hands. He smiled gently at the ten-year-old next to him. He shook his shaggy red hair and strutted down to the long gravel road that leads the river, leading Sarah along.
“So how’ve you been?” Sarah whispered, afraid to break the beautiful melody of frogs croaking, birds singing, and the quiet splash of leaves as they fell onto the rushing waters of the Deschutes River.
So, how was it? Critiscm is allowed, but not flames please! By the way, just to brag, Im using my sisters account, Im really 11, and Im planning on publishing this book, an editor and publisher have agreed to publish/edit my book once its done. :)
Answer: Honestly, I'm really sorry, but I didn't read it because I was reading the stuff you wrote afterward. But, good for you! I think it's great that you're getting published. I'm actually only 13 and I've been writing many novels since I was very little, but i haven't sent them to anyone yet. How did you do it, btw? I would just go crazy if I could get published! Keep up the good work writing! XD

A wisp of smoke emerged from the small cottage. Sarah trudged up the frosted grass hill, the early morning chill sending shivers down her back, and the songs from various birds and the chirping of crickets made her smile with recognition. She turned around to face her house, shielding her eyes from the sun with her hand, and checking for her grandparents. She rubbed her bare arms, wishing she’d brought her jacket, and turned around once again, walking forward. She came to the minute house, walking up the wooden porch, and to the door, where a mat saying “Welcome!” and basset hound woven into it sat underneath. Sarah only glanced at it for a moment, very familiar with it, wiped her wet, worn tennis shoes on it, and knocked on the white, wooden door. A short, squat, yellow-blonde-haired man opened the door and looked at her with certain distaste, his brown eyes searching.
“Good morning, Mr. Beyond,” Sarah cleared her throat and shifted her weight, “May I see Alex?”
“Hmm,” Mr. Beyond grunted, “Alex! Boy, your friend is over!”

Answer: Its a very short piece to read and form a full opinion just yet since i don't know where its leading the story to. It's not bad though.. I feel like your being overly descriptive in some places.. Overall I'd say its good, just needs to be revised. :)
Good luck!

Answer: Very well written! I'm surprised you're 11. Wow. The last few sentences seem to be Purple Prose though. Remove all the extra adjectives and adverbs. Anyway, it seems to be good enough to publish and I would definitely read it. By the way, what genre are you writing for?

Answer: It is a very good start. It is nice to hear a happy one for a change. The only thing I would say is you do not need to describe every little detail, it just confuses the reader. I liked the fact that you did not know all about the two characters but you have given away just the right annount of information. However try not too say so much about the eyes of the character. If you see somebody in real life, the eyes are not the most notable part of them. All in all very good, especially for your age!

Answer: A lot of people have been posting a lot of CRAP (that they've written) on Yahoo! Answers lately, and asking if it's any good.
I've been brutally honest with them, and I'm going to be brutally honest with you.
Yours is probably the least crappy of the lot.
You seem to have some potential.
My advice is to keep working at it, and working HARD.
Make sure you know all the fussy, technical stuff about writing backwards & forwards (mechanics, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, etc., etc...), and read GOOD literature, not popular literature.
Write, write, write, and share what you've written with the people who are going to be the hardest on you about it, NOT the people who are most likely to tell you that they like it, and REALLY listen to their criticism.

Disturbingly funny. CAUTION: This joke may disturb you. Give me you feedback?
A man is ship wrecked on an island, and all that is left of the cruise ship he was on is little debris and a dog he managed to save. During his first days on the island, the man tried to signal for help, to no avail. Seeing that there are no other islands or boats for miles, he decides to explore the island to see if perhaps there are indigenous tribes on the island to help him. Alas, all that is on the island are a few exotic birds and a flock of wild sheep.
Dismayed, the man and the dog try to make do and survive on the island. But after a few months, boredom sets in. The man becomes sexually stimulated by the thought of his wife, but becomes very tired of using his palm. Soon, he decides to try something else to satisfy him. Then he remembered the sheep.
He figured since there is no one around and he had nothing else better to do, he would try doing a sheep. After all, he had read of people screwing sheep and other animals, and it seemed interesting enough. So off he went in search of the sheep.
At last he found them; he yanked out his junk and began banging one of the unsuspecting sheep. But, as soon as he started, the dog he saved began attacking his leg and pulling him away from the sheep. The man shooed the dog away and continued his business with the sheep. Again the dog attacked him. Annoyed, the man decided to stop and goes back to his little “home”.
The next morning, however, he decides t o try again on the sheep. This time he leashes the dog to a tree. After finding the sheep again, he begins as he did the day prior. But as before, the dog comes out of no where and attacks him. The man, angry that the dog got out of the leash, kicks the dog and continues to bang the sheep. Yet, again, the dog attacks him.
Frustrated, the man decides to explore the island a little more. After a few minutes, he comes upon a cave. He enters the cave and finds a lamp. Rubbing the lamp, a gorgeous genie appears. She is so beautiful that she would weaken the knees of even the strongest man. She was a dream come true. “I will grant your every desire,” says the genie seductively. The man looks at her and says, “Watch the dog.”

Chapter I: Alex Beyond
Sarah knew the look well, Alex’s mother wore it often, so often that Sarah was surprised it hadn’t become permanent on her face by now.
“I’ve been fine, certainly missing you,” Alex smiled his grand smile that seemed to light the whole world, his white teeth shining brilliantly.
So, how was it? Would you read it or buy it if it was in stores? Thanks! Constructive critiscm is allowed, but not flames please! Im 11, using my sisters account, by the way, so not too harsh though I can handle things :)
Answer: This is amazing, I hardly believe that you're 11! I would buy it, and probably love the whole thing. The only bit of criticism I have is this- at some points your descriptions are at some points a bit too drawn out and flowery. For example, insted of: “I’ve been fine, certainly missing you,” Alex smiled his grand smile that seemed to light the whole world, his white teeth shining brilliantly.
Try: "I've been fine, certainly missing you" said Alex, his grin lighting up the frosty morning.
I'd love to hear the next bit if you have it, here's my email- Beforethestorm111@gmail.com

My friends "disabled" fiancee of 2 years is controlling and abusive, help?
I come on here on behalf of my friend cause shes scared of the consequences. But shes been living with her fiancee for 2 years and its been hell for her. At first things were fine til into the 7th month. She wanted to go somewhere and he said "no you need to stay here and clean the house." Thats when the controlling and arguing started. In October 09 she said they were arguing over her eating certain foods. When she said she was gonna eat it anyway and walked into the kitchen he ran behind her and pulled her hair til to where it was sore for hours. Thats not all. She said it happened again 4 months later, and he blamed her laziness and her ADD disorder for the reason he acts that way.
Well, on and off theyve been arguing and him making put downs and she couldnt take it. So she left him last year for like 4 months and he begged and pleaded she come back. At first she had her foot down, then she broke. She finally gave in and moved back in. And like the 1st time they met things were cool. Then after 4 months he was at it again. They got a laptop from their church so she can look for work on it. Not even 2 months later he was mad at her for standing up to him and he smashed the laptop. She was so devastated cause the church gave it to her and she almost walked out on him. But he blocked the door and said he needed her and he was sorry he did that and was gonna get a new computer. Which he did the next month, caue she once again gave in.
Now its been worse. Shes been on there trying to get online job search done cause she hasnt had a job in 5 years thanks to this recession. He told her to get off cause its a waste of time and noone is gonna hire her. She was persistent and didnt listen. So when she took a break she was playing the Angry Birds game. He showed up and yelled at her, screaming and threatening to her so loud the neighbors heard him. She then said "thats it" and threw something at him, and thats when he slapped her. She had a big red mark on her face and it was throbbing. Minutes later a cop showed up and he said "go in the room so he doesnt see that". She said he mustve lied to the cop cause the cop left. And she said shortly later he started laying some rules down, like "no computer without my supervision and its business only, no opening new food," and he even told her she was a stupid lazy white b*tch...thats wrong :-/ She cooks, cleans, does laundry and gives him his meds, you call that lazy? Sure she procrastinates, but thats not an excuse
After that i never got any calls from her. Yet she never told me all this was going on and ive been her friend for a year. Until she called last week and said all this stuff im telling you. I said "Why didnt you tell me before? And why do you put up with him?" She said it was cause he has back pain and other medical problems, plus he has post traumatic stress from military and prisons and sometimes he snaps and regrets it. And that hes a clean freak and he just wants a clean place. I told her hes controlling her and she needs to leave but shes not listening. I think she needs a reality check and wants to hear it from other people too. Shes been really distraught and depressed, she sounds like she has no life in her. She doesnt even trust my advice and im her friend. I need you guys to say some advice and stuff so I can print it out and read it to her. She needs to know shes not alone and that she needs to go.
Thanks for the help! :-)
Answer: Firstly, I think it's really admirable that you choose to help your friend when she clearly cannot.
Honestly? She may see good sides to him and hears excuses that he constantly says but it's time to put YOUR foot down as well and tell her that this behaviour is not acceptable whatsoever even if he does have certain problems.
You may have heard this before numerous times but it's true... if he genuinely cares about her he would make an effort to change instead of just saying he will. But trust me: people like that never change at all. He is immensely lucky to have her sticking around even after the first hint of abuse in the relationship, and I'm not going to sugar coat it, this is abuse.. physically & emotionally.
She's certainly not alone because my aunt went through the exact same situation with her husband and finally, after all the beatings, cheating everything, she decided to take her son and get a divorced and now she's a little messed up due to all the abuse but it would be enormously worse if she chose to stay with him.
My final advice: tell him what he's doing is not acceptable at all... no excuse, even if you have problems or distress it does not give him the right to do anything of what he's been doing. She has to leave him because this just isn't fair for her and she does not deserve to live her life in fear that the love of her life could snap any minute.

Answer: For an eleven year old it is utterly brilliant, however there are a few grammatical anomalies here and there. I'm on my iPod so I can't highlight them to point them out. I would also venture that it is too short to be a complete chapter and thus far moves a little too slowly. It's well written but lacking hooks to pull your audience in. Mind you, this is only my opinion. I've been writing since your age but I've lost interest in novels and have focused on poetry for years. I would love to get back in to it, but I fear rejection you see. Well done for being braver than I am.

please read my story rate 1-10 dont have nothing nice to say dont comment it at all, you are not the best!!!!?
I am on my way to Seattle Washington. Although I well miss my friends and family, mother says it is for the best. Mom is driving, I just hope we make it home in one piece. Mom just got fired for being late at a conference, were loosing money by the hour. So were moving back in my home town near the local hospital I was born in, on November 3, 1995. That way mom is granted a full time job to support my sister Sophia and me.
I have no doubts for my mom, after all she is a great single parent and she is for sure a terrific care taker. I don’t know why mom likes being in a white room with medical equipment and a patient eager for medical care. Mom prefers to be in a crowded room with doctors with masks on performing surgery. My sister Sophia is three. Mom really takes her under her wing 24 hours a day. She basically get what she wants, when she wants. She is very plump with the most brilliant amber eyes, and the simplest blond hair that you can find on a store bought Barbie doll. Mom use to joke around and say she almost named her Barbie for her hair.
A couple of years back just before my dear father passed on he left my mother a red mustang 2006. She loves that vehicle like she gave birth to it. We just passed a highway sign that reads “Montana 4 miles off enter section”. Mom rolls her eyes, “If it was not for my career we would be at home in a telephone book searching for a job Lauran”. I sign… “yea well you have to be a burse don’t you”. mom rolls her eyes, and rolls down the windows. When the fresh Montana air hit my face I almost collapsed. We strolled my a dumpster, that did not at all help the fragrant. The sky was a grayish chalk color to it, very dull and a unsafe warning to bad weather.
A couple birds flew here, and there the whole site seemed familiar, I felt like a free sprit went right through my chest. I grew a free mind and noticed a change in the atmosphere, maybe today was a start of something new, maybe my whole life would turn and twist and squeeze the dull days I once had. Maybe its time my life starts a new chapter. “Oh.. Its 6:43pm Lauren you hungry by any chance” my mother grins with a thoughtful worried look in her dark green eyes. Although my stomach twisted and bounced all around, I have not yet hunger pains. “Um.. No mom. But I think we should all rest and maybe Sophia is hungry to, besides there is a bad storm coming I can just feel it in my veins”. “Is Sophia asleep” mother calls. I turn in my set to view Sophia’s spot in the back third row. She is dead asleep, I really love my sister when she is asleep. “yep” I bellowed.
As I have deep thoughts running in and out of my head, I noticed a dark cloud appearing out of the right window toward the back of the car. Silence Brooke loose in the family car by a roaring sound coming from the angry sky. “Oh lord a bad storm I guess we should find shelter” my mom says. Out of no were a dangerous hail storm approaches from the north, my sister wakes up screaming and yelling saying “I want to go home mama”. we both show no sign of paying our attention to the whiner in the car. We were both worried that a bad hurricane might appear out of no where. The next exit was 2 miles away to the next exit accordingly to the sign. The car sped up, I sincerely rolled up the windows for my moms sake of worrying about something else than the road.
The sky grew darker, all birds and any sign of life brushed through the trees, the sun set early or was is the black clouds blocking its hot beaming rays? Mom pasted me my sisters bottle and I drove her fast to sleep, she is the reason my mom gets in car crashes in stressing moments much like this. It felt like a nightmare, I fell curious where the beautiful sun shone, and were the white clouds, and the birds chirped in the wind as we drove by. We were new to this state so we have no idea what weather conditions it must be today. But, are only clues are that nature is deserted and any signs of life has left, no cars, no singing birds, no sun, just a big black sky. We reached to a near by town and are looking for some hotels to stay the night in. as I look out my car door window, rain pours down heavily. It looks like today’s weather forecast was prescribed as “raining cats and dogs”.
i did not write yellped and no your lame you freako path!!!!!!!!
Answer: Pretty lame. Weak plot and poor grammar to boot. Inconsistent verb tense. Poor visualization. A lot of he said/yelped/bellowed etc. Seems like something a middle/high schooler would write.

I have a story about the time Dubya and John Howard just finished a meal at Woolloommoolloo?
Both men were in the mood for an evening walk after such a sumptious steak banquet with 200 of our finest citizens. But before said could happen and the Chasers have Osama not not Obama, be flown in for a quick kerbside interview it was necessary for the route to be in lock down all the way to Harrys Meals De Wheels.
So they FBI packing heat frothing at the mouth for some gun play decided to toss a coin for the honour with the Australian SAS to do a quick sorte down route and clear the road of alll but the said flower girls mike in hand back to base? SAS won the toss and went in to bat.
As they rounded the bend in full out sprint with 110kg back pack with said equipment and special purpose vechicle following up the rear, jogging speed 45kmh a suspicious character was found at the docks?
There with a three pointed hat they quckly removed to search was a man hopping on a wooden peg?
Whats with the fake leg, why is your leg strapped up behind you knee??? Stern authority voice!!
"AAArrrrrggggghhh" said the old man? I like that sound? "AAArrrrrggggghhh" said the old man?
Okay you have copy paste too eh?
"AAArrrrrggggghhh" he said, "well ah was splicing da main brace and da boom spun round an hit me wippin out me leg AAArrrrrggggghhh but ships doctor be mighty kind amputated me leg and fashioned me a nice new leg to walk upon? AAArrrrrggggghhh"
"Yeah, well what about the deadly weapon you is concealing on your hand that grappling hook?" Sterner voice starting to get angry now!!!
"AAArrrrrggggghhh" said the pirate, i mean gentleman on the wharf front near where dock workers were?
"AAArrrrrggggghhh" he said "Well Id climbed up to the main stay on ship and was lashing sail wind came up an blew me off ripping my hand see AAArrrrrggggghhh but ships doctor be mighty kind and fashioned me this hook where my hand was, so I can still splice main brace and stow sails? AAArrrrrggggghhh"
"I am starting to get mighty angry" because SAS soldiers arent easily fooled in the year 2006 and when a visitng President controlling the free world arrives and they usually warn someone politely before knocking the living stuffing outta dem unless Al Kyda or Obama or something, ooops should read Osama, Obama Osama all sounds same to me?
"What is with the fake eye patch then?" said the SAS soldier now irrate at wasting so much time instead of shooting first and profusely apologising later?
"AAArrrrrggggghhh" said the dock worker, note back from pirate having described one without a doubt, aint no doubt bout it? "AAArrrrrggggghhh" which is really weird because aussie dockers dont usually make such words up usually english ones maybe but only when they are winning the ashes??
"AAArrrrrggggghhh" said the english dock worker in Australia probably on an out stayed visa in time for the January first Bondi fire works beach party, wooden pegs are such a drag in the sand?
"AAArrrrrggggghhh" he said? Ah was watching albatros in sky an ee swooped and pooped in moy eye?"
Obviously spotting an out right fake because clear line asian fishers have killed all the sea birds with lines entangling these birds now extinct and he baled him up against wall?
"AAArrrrrggggghhh" Said seaman, "I whipped it with me hand" as he worked it up somewhere between the gonnards and cruits of the SAS bloke and rather than be a fatherless put a death grip on his neck and he collapsed in a clatter of steel and timber on the ground to be thrown on following car and hog tied, next said the SAS following on at 45 kmh as if nothing had happened.
I wonder, do you think Dubya instead of feasting on fine Aussie grain fed rump steak with sailors shoulda been on the clearance root to later see these same men chow down on a Harrys Meals de Wheels pie and peas rather than bother with the boob jobs the navy paid for?
Rate the joke outta ten or story and btw that doesnt include any person or persons refered to in the story or after it? Points awarded on a reply that makes sense isnt insulting and may or may not be funny something more than just a number outta ten like vanity I am really vain being a blonde virgo male and like leo brunettes???
Answer: Sir. I have worked very hard over the last 16 years on my company, and believe, me, if I had known it would come to have the same pronounciation as the world's largest terrorist organization, I would of had second thoughts about a name choice, but none the less, I am at this point now. Would you mind correcting the spelling mistake in your article? The terrorist organization is spelled "Al Qaeda", I believe, not "Kyda", which is my company name, I would appreciate it.! thanks in advance.

Texts Without Context
In his deliberately provocative -- and deeply nihilistic -- new book, Reality Hunger, the onetime novelist David Shields asserts that fiction has never seemed less central to the cultures sense of itself. He says hes bored by out-and-out fabrication, by myself and others; bored by invented plots and invented characters and much more - By MICHIKO KAKUTANI

Chapter I: Alex Beyond
Sarah knew the look well, Alex’s mother wore it often, so often that Sarah was surprised it hadn’t become permanent on her face by now.
Answer: Wow! You're 11? You should be really proud of this; I really liked it and all the descriptions you gave were really vivid and realistic. The only thing I will say is that you should have said "her lips were pursed", not "pursued". I'm sure this was just a typo, though, so don't worry too much. Keep up this standard of writing and you will be famous one day!
