YANKEES 9, INDIANS 2; Jeter Moves Closer to 3,000 As Yanks Roll
CLEVELAND -- With two outs in the second inning Tuesday night, Carlos Carrasco threw Derek Jeter a fastball on a 2-0 count. It was not just any fastball. It was a 90-mile-per-hour fastball that hummed in on the same plane as Jeters belt. Were that pitch able to speak, it would have asked him to crush it to Kalamazoo. Jeter did not do that, but he - By BEN SHPIGEL

Obamas BFF
On Jan. 25, 2008, the day before the South Carolina Democratic primary, Barack Obama endured a grueling succession of campaign events across the state. When his staff informed him that the evening would conclude with a brief show-up at the Pink Ice Ball, a gala for the African-American sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, Obama flatly refused to attend. - By ROBERT DRAPER

I dont know exactly what Im feeling, but I feel horrible?
This is a very long question, so please bear with me; Ill try to be concise.
This whole problem started a couple months ago, with the introduction of a certain female into my social circle at school. She got her schedule switched around, which caused her to switch to our lunch and due to the fact that her brother hangs out with my little group, she began to hang out with us too. This said female is pretty much the source of all my emotional problems as of now, although I dont know if I can directly blame her.
As we started hanging out more and more, I started falling in love with her. Yes Ill say it. Falling in love. I became obsessed with her smile, with her eyes, with the way she acted, etc. It got to the point that I have dreamt about her every single day for the last 2 or 3 months. I dont much about psychology, but I dont think it is normal for anyone to be so emotionally attached to anyone else without actually having a committed relationship.
The problem is that she carries herself in a very flirtatious, physically interactive way, and what she might’ve seen as friendly playfulness, I saw as flirting and signs of her liking me back. Now I’m not saying that she does not like me, for I do not know what she feels, but what I do know, is that she acts similar with other guys.
As you may imagine, this extreme attachment causes me to put my feelings on the line quite a bit. This couples of months have been hell for me. I go through cycles of depression, despair anger and hopelessness and resignation. Although I have tried to forget her, to ignore her I find this impossible. There are always times of the day when I am with her and my attraction for her is rekindled.
I have tried to stop liking her, but I have not been able to achieve this. What I have been able to achieve is to dig a deep pit of despair for myself and jump in head first. This makes my interactions with her awkward, for I can’t hide some of the resentment I feel for her, and sometimes I even feel a little pathetic when I’m around her. What can I do? How can I feel better?

Ultrasound found small black circle in uterus? is it pregnancy?
I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 mos ago via ultraound. The left ovary had some cysts on it. But all my bloodwork came back normal. No hormonal imbalances. (Which is my understanding that PCOS & hormonal imbalance go hand-in-hand). My periods have always been on a 30-36 day cycle. The only times I missed periods were when I was pregnant with my 3 pregnancies, a 2wk late cycle due to weightloss & a 1.5wk late cycle when I was diagnosed with PCOS. Every other time, I have always fallen in that 30-36 day range for my period. 10yrs ago I had an ectopic pregnancy (while on birthcontrol) that ruptured my filopian tube. 4yrs ago my husband got a visectomy, but the urologist passed away before he could go back & have his sperm count checked. Hes been too lazy/unconcerned to go have it checked by anyone else. Over the past 4 yrs, we have always used alternate means of protection, up until June, when we ditched the latex & decided to go unprotected, confident in his surgery. My last period was May 30th. The one before Apr 27th. The one before that Mar 24th. (And so on). When I was due for my cycle July 4th (avg), I had milky/white discharge. A lot of it. For about 2 wks. When I was 2wks late, I called the GYN, they told me to wait 2 more wks, prob PCOS. I waited 1 wk, but began having symptoms of pregnancy (I am a mother to 3, 4 pregnancies behind me, I know the feeling). So I called back, asked for an u/s. They did an u/s the following wk (3wks 1dy late) & said the lining of uterus was thick, as if about to start a period or pregnant. They found a small, black circle in my uterus, was told it was either early pregnancy or a blood clot?? It was inconclusive at that point. My dr ordered bloodwork that wk, bloodwork the following wk & scheduled a 2nd u/s Aug. 9th. Both bloodworks came back with "less than 2", so negative. Ive taken 7HPTs, all negative. I am currently 4wks 4dys late, no sign of Lady Red. No a single drop. Pregnant? PCOS? Help!!!
I thought that too, when I went in for that ultrasound fully expecting to see a 5wker... and when she said it could be early pregnancy, I said well 3wks ago I wouldve started my period, not ovulated. She informed me that PCOS can cause sporadic ovulation, that that would be the reason why so many women with PCOS struggle to conceive because they cant accurately pinpoint when they ovulate, making conception difficult. So I dated back three weeks from that ultrasound & we were definitely having sex like crazy (I dunno why). Lol

this is the start of my story im writing called "Nothing Special." please just constructive critism and help with any ideas?
“So this is it huh? Lakeview performing arts high school.” Mariela said as her mom pulled into the parking lot.
“This is it,” her mom replied, “All $500 of it.” Mariela flashed her a look.
“But you worth every cent.” she said with a nice smile. She walked out of the car slamming the door shut.
“Ok, I’ll be here to pick you up at 2. Have fun!” Mariela swallowed hard. She doesn’t normally get nervous. She’s been acting since age 5. There was just something about this school that made her feel uneasy. She walked inside looking straight at the long hallways. It was empty. “I must be early.” she thought aloud. She studied every inch of it. From the large cafeteria with marble walls, to the gymnasium with pictures of Broadway shows covering the walls. Then, she came to the auditorium door. She opened it and was amazed. It was huge. She’s seen many auditoriums in her life but never one this big. The seats seemed to circle around the theatre, never ending. The stage stretched from wall to wall, she almost didn’t believe what she was seeing. She could just imagine it, her being center stage, in the middle of the spotlight, about to say her lines-
“What are you doing?” a voice echoed. She jumped.
“What? Umm oh sorry, I was just-”
“Yeah yeah. First time being here?”
“Um yeah.” she replied still a little shaky.
“Everyone’s the same way. You see the huge stage and imagine yourself being on it with the lead role. Well hun, here’s the truth, with a school this big, there’s a very small chance you’re even going to be seen on that stage. So instead of wasting your time here, I’d get to class.” He was a short, brunette who was wearing a lime green top and black stretch pants. From the look on his face, he wasn’t the friendly kind.
“Good luck.” he finished as Mariela quickly ran out. She didn’t know what that was supposed to mean but she didn’t care. Right now, all she was worried about was getting through the day. When she walked out the hallways were filled. She felt someone tap her on the back. “Oh great, what now?” she thought. It was a girl with reddish hair who looked fairly normal.
“I saw what happened. Did Mr. Burns give you the ‘you’ll never be seen on that stage’ speech?”
“Was that who that was? I’m new here…”
“Oh, then that must not have been much of a welcoming. I’m Reck. My real name is Gretchen, but because of my hardcore break dancing skills, I recked a lot of body parts, so that’s what they call me. Weird, I know. But compared to some of the kids and, hah, teachers in this school I’m actually pretty normal.”
“I wish I could tell you my name is snake or scars or something cool, but I’m Mariela. I’ve been acting since I was 5 and singing since I was 10. Nothing special.”
“Well I’m glad to know I’m not the only not completely insane person in this school.” She laughed. “Would you like the personal tour after school today?”
“Sounds good.” Mariela smiled. “First off, can you show me to the office? I need my schedules.”
“Course.” she said. They grabbed her schedules and started walking out.
“Hey! We’re in the same homeroom!”
“Mr.…Apeole? It almost sounds like the name of an endangered species.” Mariela said laughing.
“Oh you have no idea…” Reck said opening the door to their homeroom. The first thing Mariela encountered was a boy with a monkey who stopped her in her tracks.
“Oh, hello.” she said. The boy whispered something into the monkeys ear and then the monkey shook Mariela’s hand.
“That’s Andy. He doesn’t talk much.” Reck said walking further into the classroom. Mariela followed behind. Then, two blond twin girls started singing harmony together looking at a piece of paper.
“No that’s not how it goes!”
“Yes it is! Look at the music!”
“What do you think I’m doing?” Reck sat down at a desk in the front and motioned for Mariela to sit next to her. She looked back at them.
“Those are the William’s twins. Amy and Ashley. They commit all their time to singing, you’ll probably hear them singing a lot in the hallways and classes and such.”
“Do they always fight that much?” Mariela asked.
“Occasionally. When they perform it always comes out great, so I guess its worth it.” Reck answered. Just then the bell rang and everybody scurried to their seats. Including many kids with instruments and interesting outfits. Mr. Apeole ran into the classroom late with a big bag in his hands.
“Sorry I’m late everyone, I had to get the elephant out of my bed.” Everyone looked confused.
“Anyways!,” he looked over at Mariela. “We have a new student in the classroom! Mariela, why don’t you stand up.”
“Ugh, I hate being the new kid.” She thought while standing up.
“Everybody say hello.”
“Hi Mariela, hey, whats up?” They all replied. She started to sit down when someone yelled out, “Where’d you come fr
